Madrugada "Industrial Silence" (1999)

  • Madrugada was been picked out as the saviors of norwegian rock music, and when you listen to this, you understand why. With "Industrial Silence" Madrugada had made a melancholic masterpiece with floating vocals guitarplinking and mouth organ. I say Nick Cave and Grant Lee Buffalo and you see where this is heading, but don`t let these references prevent you....when you listen you understand. Madrugada have made one of the best melancholic rock albums the last couple of year.
  • Well, upon first hearing this album my mouth fell open...Some songs remind you of Tindersticks, then Sixteen Horspower and then Nick Cave but even so Madrugada maintains their own sound.

  • "Vocal" is an absolute classic, together with "Electric" and "Strange Colour Blue". Sivert Høyem's voice is just so great, it can keep my mood up during the dark winter to come.
